Health care, unemployment. Ozone depletion. These are the headings we see every-day in the Global Change Game, participants have the opportunity to find solutions to these and other pressing world issues.
Played on a colourful hand-painted world map the size of a basketball court, the Global change game is a fast-paced, challenging learning activity which channels participant's energy and creativity into exploring the major global problems of our time.
The Global Change Game was created in Winnipeg in December 1991 by a small group of volunteer students from the University of Manitoba. Since that time, the game has travelled from one end of the country to the other. The game has been played in high schools, Universities, conferences and even the Manitoba Legislature.
Collingwood Collegiate Institute was pleased to present the Global Change Game. The game was an ultimate success helping people to understand the balance between economics and trade and trying to save the environment. Participants left with a more personal outlook of global problems and ways to resolve them on earth. The session provided sound ideas of sustainable development, which is and will become a strong focus for today and years to come!
