Thank you for your ongoing support as we begin a new quadmester at CCI. We continue to operate with important safety protocols in place including hand hygiene, the wearing of masks, staggered break and dismissal times, additional cleaning, and physical distancing.
As you know, all high schools in the SCDSB implemented an adjusted school schedule which includes Study Hall as part of the afternoon block. Study Hall occurs for 75 minutes each day, from 1:25 PM to 2:40 PM. It is supervised, independent learning time that is part of the 300 minutes of daily instructional time for each course. Classroom teachers plan curriculum-related learning activities to be completed by students during Study Hall.
Parents/guardians may provide general consent for their child(ren) to be excused from Study Hall with the understanding that assigned work will be completed at home. Please note, students excused from Study Hall must exit the school and will not be permitted to congregate in the halls or anywhere else on school property. Much like other situations when parents excuse their child(ren) from school, parents are to make arrangements with their child (eg. walk home, pick up) upon dismissal at 1:25 PM.
As students begin quadmester two with new courses, we are asking parents/guardians to revisit and confirm their authorizations regarding attendance during Study Hall for their child(ren).
To excuse your child(ren) from Study Hall, please complete the authorization using School Cash Online - you will find an icon on the main page for "Quick Access". Please complete one form per child.
Parents/guardians who do not wish to provide general consent may contact the school on days they wish their child to be excused from study hall.
