The Collingwood Collegiate Institute (CCI) Community Marching Band, the largest public high school marching band in Canada, is getting ready for another season of numerous community appearances.
Over 100 students from Grades 9 through 12, along with CCI staff, parents, and community volunteers are participating in the Niagara Falls, Collingwood, Markham and Fenelon Falls parades.
In October, the CCI band started their season by marching in a fundraising event for My Friend's House, a safe haven for abused women and their children in Collingwood.
“The students are extremely proud to be marching in many communities again this year,” says Aaron Bell, Arts Department Chair at CCI. “We have a committed group of students and staff who put in a great amount of time and share their musical talents to make these events a success.”
The band also received a repeat invitation to participate in Canada's largest Santa Claus Parade in Toronto, which took place Nov. 19.
